Gabriela Gomez is an emerging fine art photographer whose work explores identity, memory, and emotional experience. She was born in the United States and raised in Honduras, an upbringing that shaped her perspective and continues to influence her creative voice. Moving between cultures has given her a deep awareness of belonging, displacement, and self-reflection, ideas that are often present in her work.
Gomez earned her Associate of Applied Science in Photographic Technology from Washtenaw Community College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Michigan. Her photography is known for its use of dramatic lighting, strong contrast, and surreal elements to create emotionally charged imagery. Drawing from personal experiences, she uses photography as a way to process her past and explore the connection between who she was and who she is becoming.
Her work aims to evoke feeling and create space for others to see themselves within it. As she continues to grow as an artist, Gomez aspires to exhibit her work in galleries and expand her practice within the fine art world.
